We are Clueminaughty.
Clueminaughty is an interactive quest experience created by festival enthusiasts and puzzle lovers, Jordan and John. Debuting at Dancefestopia 2023, Clueminaughty challenged festival-goers to solve riddles, unlock hidden boxes, and complete three escalating quests filled with puzzles, prizes, and surprises. Designed to bring people together through adventure and creativity, Clueminaughty turns the festival grounds into a playground of mystery and discovery. Are you ready to crack the clues?
The Journey Begins
To start the quest, we planted the first clue where only the curious would find it. Flyers were posted around the festival, each containing a cryptic riddle leading to the first hidden box. For those who crossed our path, we handed out Quest 1 starting cards, inviting them to take on the challenge.
The adventure began at the festival entrance, near the Emerald City sign, where the first box was waiting to be discovered. From there, a riddle led people to the lake by the lollipop stage. To finish Quest 1, they needed to find our Clueminaughty totem and tell us this phrase: Do I got that dawg in me?
As a reward for their cunningness and determination, questers received their first prize: a novelty sticker featuring the night one headliners, Zeds Dead, reimagined as The Creation of Adam—because we are, after all, people of art and culture.
Crack the Code
After completing their first quest, the winner is invited to continue their adventure. If they’re up for the challenge, they receive the Quest 2 starting card.
The clue leads you to the zip line, where a directional sign holds the key—so snap a picture, you’ll need it later! With the clue in hand, make your way to the Lollipop Stage, where Box 3 awaits. Use the code from the sign to unlock the directional lock and claim your next clue (and enjoy some well-deserved suckers!).
The hunt continues at the gazebo, where a color-coded puzzle guards Box 4. Hanging up in the rafters are 4 colored Clueminaughty cards, that conveniently match the colors on the lock. Once solved and inside, you'll find another clue and a UV flashlight—your key to revealing a hidden phrase on the gazebo’s wood panel art gallery. Once you uncover the secret words, return to the totem and proudly declare, “That’s my son!” and complete Quest 2.
The victor is praised, applauded, and awarded their next prize: a sticker of Excision reimagined as Michelangelo’s Vitruvian Man —because nothing says balance, proportion, and divine human form quite like bass music and lasers.
The Final Challenge
With their skills proven and their pride at an all-time high, they are deemed worthy of advancing to the final challenge: Quest 3.
Your journey begins at the festival lockers, where a hidden message holds the key to your next destination. With the code in hand, you’ll venture to the Tin Man statue to unlock a mysterious box. From there, the path leads to the Rekinection Experience, where another hidden box holds a cryptic riddle and a strange piece of paper with mysterious holes in it.
Following the clues, you’ll find yourself going down the yellow brick road, where a locked box at the Forest Stage awaits. Decipher the password to reveal a Circle Cipher, trinkets, and things to ponder on your next puzzle. The final stretch takes you to the festival pool, where colorful ducks hold the secret to unlocking your last box.
Once their ducks are quite literally in a row, everything falls into place. Every clue, every detail, every note they’ve taken—it all adds up. With the final answer in hand, they return triumphantly to the Clueminaughty totem and declare, for all to hear: “Huzzah! Gotcha Bitch!”

These ultimate questers cracked riddles, uncovered hidden messages, and outwitted every challenge we threw at them. Their curiosity, determination, and sheer chaotic energy led them to victory!
